the DIRT BIKE

What an honor to be chosen for a Made 2025 People's Choice Award.  This award wasn't even on my radar.  I just wanted to show off my new brand with the bikes I like to ride.  To have others really appreciate what I'm doing and how I'm doing it means so much.  The particular bike meant so much more because I built it for my partner, Marie, thinking about the adventures we would get to go on.  She came up with the theme for the paint executed by local painter Black Magic.  Affectionally named, Sage Against the Machine, she's ready for whatever adventure comes her way.  This bike allows for fenders, lights, bags and fatter tires.  I made a special light bracket that has a fender mount that helps keep things tidy and still have room for bags on the handlebars or fork.  Just talking about this bike makes me want to go ride.  See ya!

Simply put: this bike was made for dirt, wherever you find it.

Born from years of Singlespeed CX racing, I know the heartbreak of hanging up a bike once the season ends. Sad. This bike fixes that. Race it hard all fall, then keep the party going, just throw on a rear derailleur and cassette, maybe some fenders, and ride it all year long.

One gear or all of them, mud or sunshine… let’s be rad.

This one’s personal. I built it for my partner, who was both eager to dive into Singlespeed CX and done with switching to a traditional road bike.  She wanted comfort, versatility, and the freedom to try a new discipline while still having an all-year commuter, and ready for weekend adventures. The design grew from that wish list: a CX race bike that can swap to gears, wear fenders, and keep rolling long after the season ends. And with her love of flowers, I added a little something special, delicate flowers adorn the headtube.

GRAVEL BIKE - SPECIAL EDITION - SUkhO

This bike was a really special build for a good friend of mine who was hit by a truck while out riding one day. He spent a long time in the hospital, letting his body heal and learning how to walk again. On one of my visits, while he was still lying in bed, I told him that when he was ready, I’d build him a new bike to replace the one he lost. At the time, I didn’t realize how much that promise meant, but later he told me it gave him something to look forward to and the motivation to keep moving.

Eventually, he walked out of that hospital and made his way to my workshop. We sat and talked about what his next bike could be, something he could ride anywhere, a bike that would carry him on his “Tour de Espresso,” as he called it. He loved finding new coffee shops and creating little adventures out of the rides to and from, no matter how close or far they were.

While I was building the frame, he was grinding away at rehab and even started riding again. I gave him the frame so he could get it painted, but before that could happen, he had a heart attack one morning while out on his bike, taking his last pedal strokes.

I decided to finish this bike for him, to honor his journey, his spirit, and to show just how powerful a bicycle can be.
